$1000 / Day
(I'm feeling Fucking Pissed)

Got a letter from the Township explaining that there was an ordinance about the length of grass. I must cut it or face a $1000 / day fine. OK. Since the property can only be seen from a few other places (not the road) a neighbor must have brought it to their attention.

Hi, neighbor! That sound you hear at 05:00 will be MY FUCKING LAWN MOWER.

Have a day.

The property values in my area are still being affected by the bubble. Anyway, tall grass is not going to detract in any way. It's a stupid township ordinance that was passed just a couple years ago (after getting this property) with no public review.

The Gravely (check some old vids with it) burned up. I have a new John Deer on order. In the meantime, I've hired a service to cut the lawn and take down some unwanted trees.

The township needs high property values for their taxes. These are the same taxes that caused me to lose a 25 acre lot. I have no sympathy for either the township or my neighbors.

wow, must really be high! Your lowering your neighbors property value fud by letting your property look like its in foreclosure.

seriously though, i would start that shit up at 5am and get a loud loud 32cc weedwacker and whack as close to the neighbors as possible.

Not required. The mower has rusted out mufflers.

Actually, I burned up the mower deck (again) trying to comply. The mower is over 25 years old. I'm looking into getting a John Deer. Also needed is clarification on the ordinance. It was passed after I moved into this house. This strikes me as an ex post facto law. I'm also wondering if the township even has the authority to pass such an ordinance.

I am far from happy about this. My preferred course of action would probably get me into trouble though.
