Acknowledging Commonality
(I'm feeling contemplative)
You remember back during the Victor wars when Vic said when the new LV launches there wouldn't be a place for either of us and we'll both fail out?
He was wrong; however he was on to something. Right idea; wrong interpretation.
You've heard this before but there are two communities now, live and video. Vic saw it as the Live taking over the Video and becoming the main focus because stickam seemed so important to us, but what wasn't thought about was the loyalty we have to LV, as well as the lack of loyalty to stickam. Stickam just filled a void, we never actually cared about it, for instance, LV's Live system is sub-par to Stickam, we all have Stickam accounts, yet we don't use Stickam anymore.
We seem to have a special loyalty to this place called LV.
Think of everything we've went through prior to the launch. We are actually in the exact opposite position Vic thought we would be in. He expected that we would be drowned out but that didn't happen because of our history, our alliances, and our loyalty.
We rule this site. We, the video makers...
Think about it. How many big YT users have came here with big aspirations and then invoke within weeks because they can't get a foot in the door? LV is paying big stickam people and they can't get an audience without LV inflating it as part of their contract. Can you think of anyone since the launch that has made the transition successfully?
Think about the situation with the registered sex offender, this brought the entire community together to one common good. Has that ever happened before? People that haven't spoke to one another in months or ever were side by side shaking hands and saying today we're a team.
This is why I say we rule this site. We, the community…
We've been at each other's throats for a long time on this site, trying to police ourselves, trying to have a good time, trying to be entertaining and entertained, and the people who are still here are the ones who stuck it through. I can't help but have a little respect for that. When LV abandoned us we didn't abandon LV.
Just a little acknowledgement of commonality.
