American Airlines
(I'm feeling
aggravated
)
Some of you folks know I travel A LOT! For a living. There is no aircraft, ship, barge, watercraft -- I have not been on...and by the end of July, I will have logged -- I kid, you not -- Twenty-Eight Around The World, First Class tickets for FREE on five airlines. So what does that tell ya? I know my airlines. Boy, do I know my airlines.
Bob Crandall used to be the CEO of American Airlines, and is a personal friend. He was one of the biggest supporters of the idea that Airline Deregulation would be good for the industry, good for the consumer and good for the country. He recently gave this speech
startelegram.typepad.com/sky_talk/2008/06/crandall-airlin.html
in which he says, essentially, "Well, that didn't work the way we planned. We need to get some of that regulation back."
Bob...I am going to call you when I get to Hong Kong at the end of July and scream at you...

I was with TWA....american airlines pushed for deregulation, along with united... it was their way of standing up and trying to compete with the big boys....PAN AM and TWA..... where deregulation benefited american and united, it was a major handicap to PAN AM and TWA... and eventually killed them... now american is crying about deregulation..... live by the sword, die by the sword....
