Does your Mac lag in Live Rooms?

I found the solution by accident. Today I did a clean install of my Mac OS Leopard to install bootcamp. When I reinstalled Adium MSN wasn't connecting. A solution I was given fixed my LV issues too.

In Leopard, since the launch in the Live Shows I had a 10 second lag in text and worse in video. I was forced to take refuge in Windows XP using Parallels which didn't work very well and constantly broke.

This no longer happens and I can now use LV like everyone else.

How did I fix this?

It's technical and all you need to know is that Leopard deals with DNS a little differently and you will need to make a basic adjustment. Don't worry this is not hard to do nor will it weak your firewall or anything.

Step One - Log into your Router configuration (this is different for everyone so i can't really help you out with this) and find you primary and secondary DNS server IPs and write them down.

Step Two - Go to your System Preferences and click on "Network"

Step Three - Choose your connection type (mine is Airport) and then click on "Advanced"

Stepe Four - Click on "DNS" and then simply add your Primary and Secondary DNS IPs in there.

Step Five - Click Apply.

And you're done... no rebooting needed. Just log onto LV and have fun.

That's odd.
As you know, I haven't had quite the same issues you've had with the LiveShows on Leopard. I suspect it may have to do with something deeper, as I'm connected via wire. Airport may not do things the same. I did have to set up my own connection though, because the automatic one didn't play nice with changing the SAMBA (Windows) Workgroup name - a known Leopard bug that I'm not sure has been solved yet.
