Election
(I'm feeling drained)

I am in awe of the people who got out and voted, showing their power in America, and seeing that power translate into something the whole world hoped for.

I fear for Obama and his family, because we have plenty of armed idiots in this country that get crazy ideas.

I want him given a fair chance to make a mark on this country - to bring back what we can be.

I look forward to not being hit over the head with fear, fear, fear of people in places whom we don't even know.  Because if we met them on the street, we would see we have more in common than differences.  And this administration didn't want that kind of idea around.

I still have fears that the current administration will do something incredibly stupid, like attacking Iran. That would plunge the world into a horror of unbelieveable consequences.  I just want them to back off, completely.  I want them and their cronies to leave America alone now - hands off.

I want to see what we all can do together - with a leader that can inspire us and point us to a different way of doing things - without signing statements hanging over our heads.

So, even though I am happy, I am cautious, I am on guard, and I am vigilant.  There is no relaxing now.

There's a lot of work to do.

Cautious is a good word to use. I too fear what some crazy might do to Obama. But mostly I am expecting that there will be less change than people like you and I hope for. The rhetoric from the White House will change somewhat and that will be a relief. But Obama is in the pockets of the Billionaires. All Dems and Reps nominated for President are.

WOOT! This election was poodlelicious! I am so proud of the young people who voted in record numbers. I am soooooooo happy the neocons will be out soon! I think President Elect Obama will be the best President since FDR.

You would probably consider me on the other end of the political spectrum from yourself. Yes I am one of those right wing Christians and a life member of the NRA.
I have seen some things in President Bush that make me proud of his character and other things that have made me wonder about him. With executive orders so many of out freedoms have been taken away. I thought we were not suppose to let the terrorists do that.
I did not vote for Mr. Obama however I wish him the best. He is my president and should only be removed from office by being defeated in four years or impeached if necessary. I believe the members of the secret service are brave and honorable people who will protect him with their very lives as they should.
As a Christian I will be praying for God to give him wisdom to lead us. He has a very rough road ahead.
