Feeling a bit better....
After spending most of today in bed, I am able to hobble around a little bit. I actually managed to get down the stairs and make supper for Mom who had been sitting most of the afternoon at the clinic (5 hours) waiting to renew some of her prescriptions.
Every so often, if I move some way that my back doesn't like, I get the really excruciating pain... forget about sneezing, hiccupping, coughing....
Luckily, my company has allowed me to take two weeks of my vacation. Since I have used up all my sick days, all my Family Leave, and all but one day of my Emergency Leave and haven't actually worked long enough in this fiscal year to have banked enough holidays, the Office Manager said it was no problem to take them now anyway. They have been awfully good despite the fact that I worked only half the month last month and missed two weeks of January.
Even if I manage to be well enough to go back next week, I need the time off.
With my being sick, then my Mom, then her fall, then mine.... this month has been draining!
Luckily, Mom is better and, although she is still tired, she is able to get around more or less unassisted. The neighbours in the co-op have been great, making sure the walk is cleared of ice. One of them said we could use their parking space since ours hasn't been plowed for weeks (even when we have been out for hours and hours, the service hasn't plowed and I have NEVER heard them come by when we've been home).
However, I am trying to laugh about all this. My theory is that if you don't laugh, you have to cry and I would much rather be laughing at the state of things.
