Holy dung puss batman!
(I'm feeling

I’ve decided Utah isn’t that bad. Sure, there can be some negativity everywhere, but it’s mainly unhappy people when you look at the big picture. You gotta live small most of the time, so you naturally defend yourself but I think it’s best now to keep low key about that. By that, I mean instead of lashing out and getting angry, just pull your friends closer to you. I suppose the best defense is love and a peaceful manner since, if you haven’t noticed, most of the word strikes back and a lot of the time it’s in self defense. For thousands of years this hasn’t worked, and it’s not even working out that great for the USA. Now, that being said there is something to be said about staying alive and when it comes to bodily harm I certainly would fight back pretty hard, but when it comes to jerks, disputes or even slight racism it’s best to react in a peaceful manner. Even if people don’t learn from your actions, it’s a small ripple in a great pool of life. It probably won’t affect many people except locally but you never know. Even if it stays pretty close to you, you’re not gonna change the fact that you’re always going to be affected so I think a bit of peace would be great.
That being said, I’d love to get more spiritual. What I see around me is good people being dragged down by life. Wonderful people and even some close to me. Quite frankly life is pretty rough sometimes, and even when it isn’t it sure helps to have a bit of perspective on this life and what happens after you die here. Now, I’ve nothing against many Atheists, including Richard Dawkins. People are given or are born with their native intelligence, and just because they don’t believe in God does not mean they’re necessarily evil or stupid. And what you see now is simply a snapshot, a still photo in time that is continually progressing. Whether or not they change or see your point of view is not really up to you. What is up to you is how you behave and the words you say, which should basically be kind and understanding. Pretty much everyone wants to be free, and everyone, some of it by chance and some of it by personal choice, go about their own way of getting that freedom. Everyone has different perspectives and things that matter to them, and it should all be respected within reason. Quite frankly, religion can’t really point the finger at anyone without being hypocritical. Christians, Mormons, Muslims and just about everyone, and who knows, maybe even Buddhists, have had some or several times in their history where they screwed over someone innocent. It happens since we’re still a bit primitive, and I am actually pretty sure it will happen with Atheists as well, and most likely already has. Pretty much the most accurate description of mankind I’ve seen in a movie at least, is form “Contact” where the alien, in the form of Jodie Foster’s character’s father, says that we are an interesting species, capable of the most beautiful dreams but also the most horrible nightmares. From personal observation I find that quite accurate. It’s quite amazing, and not really in a good way, how we can find ourselves simply wanting to be free and happy, and suddenly, someone is being screwed over, and quite badly in some cases. I don’t think many people at all come into this life, and at a very young age and on their own, suddenly come up with the idea one morning of completely messing things up for people. It pretty much always has a root in an outside influence, whether it’s the environment or other people. Maybe there are a few cases of some mental illness, but quite frankly, that’s almost like an external influence in itself. They are even finding that some mental illness is caused by a virus or some kind of interaction with the environment or some kind of disease. Sometimes it’s genetic, so you can’t blame the person 100% even if you can blame them 98% or even 99%. I can’t remember what scientist said this, but if you haven’t noticed the universe is trying to kill us. It’s not really that different on earth. Well, being one of the few sentient beings on Earth, and quite frankly, the only ones I know of that can reach other planets in the solar system within 100 years or a few hundred years or so, without the planet actually blowing up, is us. Even if you believe there is life abundant in the whole universe, it’s so far out there, and we’re just a single planet in many many galaxies, doesn’t that make us feel alone? I think most of us do feel that way and that’s also part of the problem. And even when we do find other life, or it finds us, we’re not guaranteed it won’t be hostile. I mean, look at us! We can actually breed, and we knock each other out of this mortal plane like it were some sort of sport. Now, when we do come in contact with other technological life, we’d better have our act together because we’re either very likely to get our asses handed to us, in several pieces, or we’re going to wind up in a war of some sort that will leave both sides pretty decimated, or forever pissed off at each other. How fun is it to colonize or explore when you know terror could come raining from the sky or something. And even those that don’t bother fighting are, some of them and often a large number of them, get trampled under by both sides and considered collateral damage. We already do that, but after thousands of years of literacy and technological advance, we’re doing the same shit over and over. Sure, we can learn to manipulate energy and metals, and even get our asses off this rock, but we still haven’t learned the single best thing to avoid wars, and that’s being nice to each other. We’ve even killed prophets, religious leaders, philosophers and scientists who suggested that maybe we should all chill out and stop with the wars and the raping and the destruction of properties and civilizations.
