Living Life... and boredom
(I'm feeling anxious)

To many people, who may say that you shouldn't be working in fast food past any certain age should concider the economy. As many americans know the economy is shit, and by shit, I mean the likelihood of finding a job in america is as hard as Helen Keller attempting to send a damn text message. Kentucky state unemployment is at nearly 6%, while US Unemployment rate is going down, but could be fluctuation from under 5% to over 5.5% later in the year. I have no problem with foreigners, except for the fact they get priority on jobs because they'll work for much less, while hardworking Americans can't get a job, because we expect enough money to just pay the bills on a monthly basis, and MAYBE have some money to go out and enjoy life. I really don't think that's too much to ask, honestly.

The countdown is on, in two days I'll beging paid training for my position at McDonald's, I'll be getting out of the house and doing something with my life. Something I've been working on for over FOUR months. Hey, it's an honest job, even if I have to be a "McSlave" I'll just be happy to be doing something with my life. The economy has been so shit poor, that I had to FIGHT, fight, to get a 6.10/hr job at McDonald's.
I was told I "would be called back", a month later, no call back, so I took things into my own hands, and called them myself to see what was going on. They told me they do interviews on Mondays, but I needed to go ahead and come in the next day for a final interview. The interview was to begin at 9:30am, I had arrived around 25-30 minutes early. So I sat in a seat in the restaraunt, and kind of observed, while occasionally taking note of what was happening around me. It was already past 9:30, so I decided to get up from my chair and order a hot chocolate, well appareantly they no longer sold it, so I just ordered a large drink, filled the cup up, then returned to my seat. 15 minutes later... still nothing, the manager was frantically running around the building as lines were building from the front counters, as appareantly one of the front cashiers decided to take a restroom break without notifying anyone. Lines were still going steady until about 10:25, as they were preparing to switch over to the lunch time menu. Several other applicants had walked in, one was to have a meeting with an assistant manager, one hadn't applied yet, so they were gonna help her apply online (even though she had already applied), it's about 10:45 and still nothing, so I decided to go outside, seeing as I hadn't heard anything back from the manager about the interview I was supposed to have with her. I took the coupon from my large drink outside to the Redbox DVD Vending Machine, and of course, someone else was already there and she had ordered at least 5 DVDs, so impatiently, I looked over the selection of movies, while she slid her bank card and slowly recieved her movies one at a time.
About 5 minutes later she recieved all of her movies, and went about her way. I then got up to the terminal, rented two movies, "Jeff Dunham: Spark of Insanity" and "See No Evil" (great movie by the way), once I recieved them, I went back into the restaraunt, re-claimed my seat, and continued scribbling on my notepad, still waiting I saw one of my neighboors (who was waiting on her daughter who was applying), and began talking to her about how long I had been waiting for my interview (at this point was close to 1 1/2  hours), we talked a bit about how our families were doing, and finally the ASSISTANT manager came out and I was told she would be the one taking care of me. At this point in the back of my mind, I'm thinking "for God's sake, just tell me whether or not you're gonna hire me for fuck's sake". Luckily I saw the paperwork that she would fill in for how much I was to make per hour, etc. Thank God! So she showed me the paperwork, told me where the orientation would be (half way across town), and the forms of ID to bring, etc. Once I left, I thought that was all, the head manager was on her lunch, as I was gathering my things to go. She got up and reminded me that I wouldn't be admitted into the orientation unless the beard was shaved, and that the mustache couldn't extend pass the lips. Once she told me all of that, I was free to go, and just have to call them once I'm through with the orientation.

On another note, when voting for president please for God's sake, don't pick a candidate because "their name sounds cool", or because  you want to get their ex-husband in the white house, or for a "sense of nostalgia", pick a candidate based on what their thoughts are on important issues like Immigration, Economy, etc.

I think that'll do it for my mish mash of thoughts, I hope you all have a good day, and take care of yourselves!
