Philosophical question
(I'm feeling thoughtful)

So why do you think you are here? on this earth, alive, having a life? What is the purpose of you?
I would really like to know the answer to my question.
Is the point of a human life to:
a) be selfish and just enjoy ourselves as much as possible, and reach our true potential in whatever way we are inclined, for example if someone has a thing about mountain climbing, should they strive to climb the biggest and most challenging mountain possible so that they can achieve their life long wish, desire and calling?
and should the child who has dancing in their bones, dance and dance until they thrill themselves to pieces leaping through the air with the biggest and bestest ballet company in the land?

or is it
b) that a person should totally deny themselves, and try to live a selfless life either doing God's will, or if not religious, doing some selfless work, putting others before themselves as a loving wife, mother, care worker, and all round martyrish saint, gaining pleasure from seeing others grow and thrive? thus earning a big reward in the next life because they sacrificed themselves in this one?

When we die and end up somewhere is the door person going to say haha you got it wrong you should have done a) and had more fun you silly saint
or will they frown and say you got it wrong you should have done b) God warned you many times that you should have been more saintly and you ignored all that.

Or is it
c) there no heaven anyway, and its all up for grabs, no judgement at the end, just this life, and therefore get what you can while you can as long as you don't hurt anyone else, probably with some karma system in operation whereby if you hurt, you get hurt back.

I would like to know the answer, because if its a) then I've been far too saintly so far and haven't done any of the things I really want to do
If its b) then I better start behaving
and if its c) then I better get in credit with the karma thing.

I would be interested to know what you think

You could just do a bit of all three, thereby covering your azz...if you think there is going to be someone at the journies end to judge you
Personally, ...I feel you should just go within...listen to what your Soul tells you and follow that path at your pace, in your time, as you see fit to do..... and IF we end up in HELL..first rounds on ME !!!

Read my blogs 4 clues 2 ur questions.
Your schemas have issues in some paragraphs that really need to be re-aligned. LV requires brevity. A detailed "discussion" is for "skype". U might also note that most of the last 200 vids I've posted directly relate to these kinds of issues!
1) Attention is where the Energy flows.
2) You "chose" 2b in this shared reality.
3) U r completely responsible for any reality you wish...and can elicit any changes you desire. Higher Functioning is as latent as ovaries are to a 6mo. old girl. "Age" is not a measure of maturity. Maturation is a process which requires responsible effort, character, application, and intention.
4) If & How One chooses to manifest their nature (pos. vs. neg. polarity) intertwines with the lattitudes of their actions. But "doing" for rewards (recognition) is "attachment"--a no-no...ego. You are an illusion...who r u doing this 4..u sake, or IT's sake?
5) Beyond the 5 senses r where truths reside.

Well, that's a big question Christine! I will give my best answer. I think we are here to learn, to experience and progress as souls. I think there is a heaven, but it depends on how we do when we're down here, what form our eventual heaven takes. Why do I think this? Well, I've come to the conclusion that you can only know how something feels, and how it affects you, and why you react to it the way you do, by actually going through whatever it is. You can empathise with other people, but you cannot know for yourself unless you experience it!

Life is quite hard, quite often, and my own thoughts on karma can be found on my blog (on this site).

I don't feel we are here to be punished, though it might feel like it at times & we should be kind to those we care for, try and understand those who hurt us, laugh often, drink champagne and eat good quality chocolate - and ride motorbikes!

Why do you ask?

Did you have a nice holiday?

Part 2:

I'm afraid I opt for the 'ole "existentialist" response. Life is what someone chooses to make of it. I choose to love all I encounter (I fail miserably-yet am resolute in my quest), to help those seeking my help, to strive to be kind, friendly, and true to my nature and archetypal essence, and finally (but importantly), to be happy. I attempt to grow beyond whom I am at present, add to my knowledge on a daily basis, and endeavor to strengthen my mind, body, and emotions. <note: folks will soon be yawning, so I'll close quickly> :-)

In short: none of the above-existential, happy, loving, giving, and self ameliorating.

Great question, Christine!!!

Ah Christine, I believe you and I had similar discussions about this, this same time last year. The proverbial 'what's the meaning of life' question, all of us attempt to come to terms with, at some point in our lives. I have, although it's hardly definitive or inspiring.

In short: We just are and we just be. I encounter little evidence for any known (or provable) entity outside ourselves, yet am forced to reconcile the realities of the universe and all existing within. With our minds abjectly dwarfed to the metaphysical complexities of the universe, can we really expect a profound understanding to draw upon such limits from within our severely limited brains? The three well known "dessert religions" are in direct conflict with one another, and some of their fundamental and central tenets have been disproven by science, time and time again. If only they could all at the same time be "true", how simple your question could be answered.

PS to my rather simplistic comment... you must first have known loved ,in order give love....
