Playspotting & the end of the Melbourne Fringe '08
(I'm feeling accomplished)
Well, the acting is over and Ticking Boxes the little play i was in playing a Chinese woman was fun and definitely a learning experience. Being an actor is hard work with no pay ( we all know that) so it is something that you must be passionate about. I am more passionate about being a writer and an artistic director, producer and director. Don't ask me what all these wonderful sounding labels really mean because what i saw was this: everyone was multi tasking. on the last night, the artistic director Rob Chuter was cleaning up the theatre. Now that is a great man, this Rob Chuter, the fact that he was the artistic director and director and all sorts to us poor little actors, does not mean he could not roll up his sleeves and cleaned up... i really like that about this guy! whither thou goest i ask myself now.... goals, plans and hopes... hmmm i would like to produce a new show, a play i wrote myself with heaps of Chinese actors and a key role to be played by an Anglo Aussie .... i am going to work on it so if you are interested, contact me. The play readings are in Melbourne... Brighton by the sea to be exact.... see you there...
