Smart People, Celebrity Crushes and Eyebrows

(I'm feeling hopeful)

I'm just crazy about Rachel Maddow. She's a Rhode's scholar with a Ph'd in political science. She's exceptionally clever without one drop of pretentiousness, such a rare combination. She hails from New England, and she has that personality trait common to this area: what you see is what you get. I listen to her radio show on Air America all the time and I love it when she fills-in for Keith Olbermann on Countdown, because she is majorly cute to watch, too. She's being seen more often these days on political talk shows, always as the liberal viewpoint guest.

I've been doing some reading about Michelle Obama and she is such an impressive person! (Even though Surfcottage says she has alien eyebrows. Her eyebrows look okay to me). I think she'll be the best "first lady" since Eleanor Roosevelt. My god, think about a smart woman with class and taste in the white house for a change after 8 years of Pickles Bush. We won't know how to react when occupants of the white house can actually pronouce nuclear and know where Iran versus Iraq is on a map.

I'm getting hopeful about the prospect of some of these authoritarians being moved out of Washington. When Dick Cheney, Rumsfled et all goosestepped back into DC in 2000, Senator Bryd is quoted as saying "The crazies are back. " Is it true that this nightmare may yet have an end?

Anyway, I just love Rachel. She's so smart.

I agree with flophousepoodle on the Laurabot comment. I compared her to a unattractive Stepford Wife.
I don't watch to much news shows cause, I have major ADD and I get bored in 10 minutes. Obama's wife I not sure about.
To be honest, Obama is lesser of the two evils and he may get my vote. Unless I get really Ballsy and fill in BillyRay on the ballot...lol.

I am more excited about this election and for my brothers and sisters in the US than I have been about an election here for many, many years! I am praying people make the right choice, and that their hopes and dreams there become a reality.
