So annoying!
(I'm feeling annoyed)
Firstly, I'd like to say that I consider the UK TV License a tax; we're told if we don't pay it there'll be a possible prison sentence or fine which is ten times the amount of the actual cost, and it is not optional.
I thought I'd say the above first as the TV License pays for the BBC, which I think has less 10% relevance to me. I find that there is a subtle and sometimes blatant tendency to promote/back the government in their news and other programming.
My main point was my annoyance of no news because of the 'global financial crisis' which is working well to darken the moods of many in this world, many but not mine.
Something astonishing happened last week something that I thought was major, but as per usual mainstream news didn't make a big fuss over it; it was mentioned but not fussed over.
The government here used anti-terror legislation to freeze to assets of Icelandic banks operating in the UK. When I first heard that assets had been frozen I thought 'well they normally do that to alleged terrorists', little did I know that anti-terror legislation was used to freeze the assets of a legitimate but failing business. Typically the news focused on Iceland's response; painting their actions as that of a baddie and not holding the magnifying glass over those who initiated the response.
The action taken means that the UK considers Iceland/Icelandic banks, terrorists. I don't think that and I know that that is not the case. As I said, rather than make a fuss over the government's abuse and misuse of anti-terror legislation, the mainstream news tried to force a 'well it's okay to have done that given the fact the world is encountering global financial crisis'.
NO IT'S NOT OKAY!
It's so annoying when the mainstream news does little to fully inform people, it's so annoying when the mainstream news is the same for weeks, months and even years having little to no substance, and it's so annoying when the mainstream news does nothing but lie!
