THE DANCER - Part Two

(I'm feeling good)

But the real magic takes place, not on this platform under the lights
But out among the tables, where the men sit and drink.
For the Dancer is not just in her element on the stage
It is what she does off the stage, that makes her special
For she is the consumate actress, a lady of compassion
She treats each man as though he were her lover,no easy task for her
Not all men who frequent such places are gentlemen
Nor are they attractive or appealing, and yet she will make them believe they are special.
A light touch of the hand, the kiss on the cheek
A hug at the right moment, kind words and an attentive ear.
She cannot love them all, but she will make them believe it for a while
Lifting the spirits of many a lonely man
Who is drawn by her smile and friendly manner
She earns every dime she ever makes
Earns it with her smile and her compassion
Not every woman can be her,for she is different and unique
She is the Dancer.
