The perils of the Battleground

Gah!  Two more weeks of this shit!

As politically interested (Note the distinction from "motivated") as I am, I'm really sick of being in a state in play.  Everywhere I go, Obama is there.  It's like he's stalking me.  "PLEASE vote for me.  I'm half-black and articulate and the other guy is Bush Lite".  Bah.  I'm so over it.  The man is spending more money in this state than the Baptists.

McCain's voice is heard via the gobs of junk mail I get every day.  Most of them are unintentionally hilarious.  You might think people gave a damn about William Ayers given the sheer amount that he is invoked by the Republicans. Note to the GOP: No one does.  You can't seem to grasp that which is why you will get decimated on November 4.  Horrible campaign.  Just horrible.

A volunteer for the Obama campaign came by the house this weekend.  I thoroughly enjoyed crushing her hopes when I told her I wasn't voting for Obama.  I rather enjoyed the look of panic and shock that crossed her face until she asked me if I happened to be voting for Barr.  The relieved sigh that I wasn't going McCain was hilarious.

I got to crush her again on the governor's race too.  Mike Munger FTW.

Needless to say, she gave me some unnecessary literature for my wife.  Complete with collectible poster.  Seriously?  A poster.  The kind of thing I get for pre-ordering a video game.  Is this the same thing, a vote pre-order?  At least it didn't have Obama's face on it, just that overused circle-logo-thing.  McCain should offer T-shirts, those always go over better than posters.  Just put an airbrushed Palin in a bikini on the back. (Yeah I went there).

I'm probably going to go early vote today.  That has to beat hitting the polls on November 4th.  If turnout is going to be like they say it's going to be, I'm content to avoid that if at all possible.

@ donde

Bob Barr is running under the Libertarian Party. He has no chance in hell of winning or even coming close to second but that's not the point in voting for him. I'd like to get as many votes for third parties so that they have an easier time getting on the ballot. Ballot rules vary by state over here and are usually skewed to make it really easy for the majors and as difficult as possible for the minor parties.
