The Windstorm in Stanley Park on December 15, 2006

I wrote this with knuckles still bent. This first draft is inspired by tree3's blog entry.

Umm, not entirely happy with it, but that seems to be a trend with me. You'll see.

The Windstorm in Stanley Park on December 15, 2006

where trees grew fat
and togethered themselves
under this soil

the windstorm arrived
cold armless
embracing

a million hands broken
uprooted
overnight

where the void expanded
gloated its empty
city-to-shore view

we plant them here

Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased, pluck from the memory a rooted sorrow, raze out the written troubles of the brain, and with some sweet oblivious antidote cleanse the fraught bosom of that perilous stuff which weighs upon the heart?
William Shakespeare (1564-1616) British poet and playwright.

Nice job on the reminiscing - never forget my walk through Lord Stanley's dominion two days after - brutal. A casual reminder that mother nature is not to be trifled with.

I made this for you, from an actual photo of the park taken the next day.

Zerks.

Also.... the more time I spend, the more work I put into making things more comfortable and appealing to me, the more at ease I am with things. That's no small feat for me seeing as how major change with something I love is very disconcerting, I am surprised at how well I've coped. I hope you will also.
