Why do I care?

(I'm feeling happy)

Why do I bother anymore?
Why do I seem to care?
Being afraid of being in pain,
Within and emotionally.

But still I look
To give my heart,
But always step back
When I fear going to far.

Yet I keep wanting,
And I keep hoping for that guy,
To finally give me a reason to believe,
Again...

But though people have tried,
To show me their hearts,
And that I don't need to fear
From love.

But I never can believe,
Not anymore,
Because fear and distrust,
Is all that I feel anymore.

Why do I bother?
Why do I care?
Why do I keep wanting?
Why must I fear?
